On July 21, finalists chosen by the Opera Connecticut Artistic Directors will perform at Hill-Stead for the chance to win the title of American Opera Idol.
At Hill-Stead the finalists will sing one piece each. Then, a panel of professional judges from various areas of the classical music arena will select 4-5 “Super Finalists.”
The “Super Finalists” will sing a second piece. And finally, the audience will vote to select the “American Opera Idol.”
Opera Connecticut believes in enriching our community by offering high quality, affordable live opera performances while providing opportunities for emerging local artists.

The performance will take place on the West Lawn. Please bring chairs or blanket, and a picnic.

4:00 pm    Performance begins
Rain Date: No rain date, the performance will be moved inside to the Makeshift Theater in the event of rain. Chairs will be provided if the event is inside.

Adult | $40 per person
Child | $15 per child
We strongly advise attendees to purchase tickets in advance. Any available tickets sold at the gate will be by credit card only. Tickets to benefit Opera CT and HSM.
