Animals for All: Caring for Exotic Critters-FULL

Saturday, September 7 10 — 10:45 am Ages 7+ A Heckscher WILD! based complement to our Caring for Critters program at Heckscher Farm. Work with our exotic animals, like tortoises and chinchillas, in small group-tailored settings in Heckscher WILD! Programs are approximately 45 minutes. Intermediate Art Workshop: Comic Strips (ages 9–15)

Learn tips and tricks for how to create a detailed and original narrative comic strip. Each student will create their own story, as well as learn techniques used in some of the most famous comic books ever made. This class is specifically designed for children ages 9-15, to enhance their artistic interests and talents. Opening celebration for upcoming exhibition entitled Free to Be, celebrating artists on the autism spectrum, on Saturday, September 7 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, with opening remarks at 1 PM from Helen Taylor, The Social Chase, and Jason Foberg, Director of Education at the Mattatuck Museum, in the Museum’s Community Gallery.
