This festival features fine contemporary hand-made crafts in jewelry, wearable and decorative fiber, glass, furniture and housewares, pottery, and much more, all available for purchase along with demonstrations and food. Festival hours: 10 am – 5 pm Festival parking: Island Beach parking lot, Steamboat Road, Steamboat Road Commuter Garage, Museum Drive Admission to the Outdoor Festival and the Museum during this weekend is $15 for all; Members and children under 5 are free.

AMERICA ABROAD: Art, Architecture, and Diplomacy – Works from the FAPE Collection

Presented on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 40th anniversary of the Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies (FAPE), the exhibition offers rare public access to artworks typically seen only at US embassies—spaces not generally open to the public—and explores how art and architecture have shaped the United States’ diplomatic presence abroad from the Cold War to today. This exhibition examines depictions of the American flag through 75 works by a diverse group of artists, beginning during WWI with Childe Hassam’s Italian Day, May 1918 and continuing to the present day, including a textile sculpture commissioned for the show from Maria de Los Angeles.
