American Mural Project Extends Its Family-Day Programming To Weekends throughout September

The American Mural Project (AMP) has extended its Family Day programming to weekends through September 29. Families can now participate in art activities any time during open hours. All art activities are included with admission. This month’s activities include Making Art with Fire: Fire Tiles and making Fire Prevention posters. Adult Art Workshop: Sketching in the Galleries

To the galleries we go! For this art class, join a group as we sketch our way around the galleries. All experience levels are welcome to take part in this practice. We will begin by warming up with quick sketches of art in the galleries, and spend the rest of the session working on a close-up study of an art piece of your choice. All materials will be provided. Join Ballet Hartford at the Hill-Stead Museum for a behind-the-scenes experience featuring the making of A Ceremony of Carols – a new Christmas ballet choreographed by Ballet Hartford’s Artistic Director, Claire Kretzschmar. This one-hour program dives deep into the choreographic process with performed ballet excerpts and a discussion led by guest moderator, Joanne Carey (host of the insightful podcast “Dance Talk with Joanne Carey”).
