Hill-Stead invites you to a special evening featuring author Deborah Goodrich Royce. On Thursday, October 26, Deborah will discuss her latest book, Reef Road: A Novel, and her life as a present-day pioneering woman. The talk will take place in the museum’s historic Drawing Room.
Afterward, dinner guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a three-course meal by Verbena in Hill-Stead’s Glass Room with Deborah as guest of honor. This delightful evening will be one to long remember.

Deborah is the bestselling and award-winning author of three psychological thrillers. Her latest, Reef Road, was called “a truly absorbing mystery by a writer at the top of her game,” in a Kirkus starred review. She began as an actress on All My Children and in movies, before transitioning to the role of story editor at Miramax Films. With her husband, she has restored multiple hotels, theatres, and Main Street projects. Deborah hosts the Ocean House Author Series in conjunction with The Savoy Bookshop & Café that brings world-class writers to Watch Hill, RI. She serves on numerous governing and advisory boards, holds a bachelor’s degree in modern foreign languages and an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Lake Erie College.

American Mural Project Extends Its Family-Day Programming To Weekends throughout September

The American Mural Project (AMP) has extended its Family Day programming to weekends through September 29. Families can now participate in art activities any time during open hours. All art activities are included with admission. This month’s activities include Making Art with Fire: Fire Tiles and making Fire Prevention posters.
