Nothing is better than hearing from the artist himself! Enjoy a whirlwind tour of Arwe Journey: Twentieth-Century Afri-Caribbean Migration with Mandingo. On view for the first time as a full series, his sixty-one-part painting series, Arwe Journey, depicts the history of the Windrush Generation as inspired by Jacob Lawrence’s Great Migration series and August Wilson’s plays. The back gallery continues the story, showing the ancestral and spiritual roots of Mandingo’s artwork. Free & open to the public. RSVP: https://bit.ly/hma-artist-talk-2024
