Love to draw? Participants will have opportunity to draw the human figure from plaster casts of important Greek and Roman sculpture. An exhibition of work by Gari Melchers, an American impressionist painter, will also be on view for inspiration. No experience is necessary, all ages are welcome, and all materials will be supplied. Light refreshments will be served.
Dr. Katherine Schwab, Professor of Art History and Curator of the Bellarmine’s Plaster Cast Collection, and Fairfield University Studio Art Professor Suzanne Chamlin will be on hand to give participants guidance and tips. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Bellarmine Museum of Art at (203) 254-4046 or visit http://www.fairfield.edu/museum/.
