With deep seductive blacks, crisp lines, and subtle washes etching allows for a wonderfully rich and diverse range of images to be created and consistently printed. This introductory class incorporates opportunities for both linear and painterly marks which can suit artists with a wide variety of practices. Intro to etching will cover the basics of etching copper using ferric chloride and a variety of grounds as well as aquatint techniques. Artists with prior experience will also learn many helpful tips and best practices for preparing and degreasing plates, wiping, and editioning.
