In this three day workshop, artists will be introduced to painting and printmaking using the ancient hot wax-based material Encaustic. Participants will explore printmaking without a press with the option to sequence and construct our prints into books. Day one will cover the basics of Monotype using encaustics and on day two, participants will dive into combining these techniques with paper lithography, sewing prints together, weaving monotypes and creating narratives within your work. The workshop will conclude on the third day with finalizing projects with coptic binding, page sequencing, and basic book construction.
