Combining Monoprints with Photo Transfer at Center for Contemp. Printmaking

Join Linda Soberman on two Saturdays and Sundays, 10am – 4pm for Combining Monoprints with Photo Transfer.

Learn the many methods of transferring photographic or print images to watercolor paper, fabric, tiles, metal, and other surfaces using b/w or color laser copies and ink jet transparencies with solvents, gels and mediums. Explore original techniques for creating exciting possibilities. The first weekend you will transfer your own photographs, drawings, and other source material in a low-tech, free-flowing way. The second weekend participants will create backgrounds of color, pattern, texture, text and drawing to combine with your transfer images with Akua inks, chine collé and direct transfers on dry prints. Emphasis will be on exploring and expanding the use of photo-generated images in combination with printmaking processes. Linda will guide you in new ways to build imagery by creating a vocabulary of images which can be combined together to build a body of work.
