FRIDAY, AUGUST 11 THROUGH SATURDAY, AUGUST 19
TWO CONSUCTIVE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS, 10AM – 4PM, 4-DAY WORKSHOP
Learn the many methods of transferring photographic or print images to watercolor paper, fabric, tiles, metal, and other surfaces using b/w or color laser copies and ink jet transparencies with solvents, gels and mediums. Make original art, created by layering transparent images with paint, text, pattern, wax, gold leaf and more. Spend the first weekend experimenting with transferring your own photographs, drawings, appropriated images, and other source material in a low-tech, free-flowing way. The second weekend will be spent creating interesting backgrounds of color, pattern, texture, text and drawing to combine with your transfer images, using water-based Akua inks, chine collé and direct transfers on dry prints.
