Ed Ruscha: Premium and Miracle at NBMAA

Experience the only two films ever created by L.A. Cool School artist Ed Ruscha: Premium (1971, 24 mins.) and Miracle (1975, 28 mins.). Premium stars artist Larry Bell and model Léon Bing in a humorous rendition of Mason William’s How to Derive Maximum Enjoyment from Crackers, which follows a man through a grocery store to a seedy hotel, where he carefully prepares a huge salad in bed. Miracle, featuring artist Jim Ganzer and actress Michelle Phillips, presents a day in the life of an eccentric auto mechanic, whose obsession with a 1965 Mustang carburetor delays his hot date. Rarely screened, these films will be shown back-to-back at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
