Join Peter M. LeTourneau, Ph.D., as he connects his expertise of geology to the painted landscapes of the Connecticut Valley. The rise of the American School of landscape painting in the early to mid-1800s was a critical factor in the establishing the practice of touring, illustrating, and writing about landscapes. From New Haven to Northampton, the unique traprock landscapes of the Connecticut Valley played an enormously important role in the history of the geographic arts and sciences.
