Join us and Christine Peyreigne of Christine’s Critters and learn all things raptor at this educational discussion about birds of prey! Meet live raptors including hawks, owls, and falcons while learning about their natural history and conservation efforts today. At 16 years old, Christine became a licensed apprentice falconer and learned all about the fantastic world of birds of prey. It was through falconry in which her passion and devotion for birds of all kind were born. At 18 years old, Christine became licensed with the state of CT and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to rehabilitate injured birds of prey, and subsequently became licensed to exhibit non releasable birds. In 2015, Christine’s Critters Inc., a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation and educational organization, took flight.

Today, Christine of Christine’s Critters attends numerous educational talks each year in an effort to spread awareness of actions we all can take for a cleaner environment. Christine’s Critters houses 23 non releasable ambassador birds of prey that travel to these programs to help inspire passion and interest for wildlife. In addition, Christine’s Critters intakes over 100 patients each year into rehabilitation, and works side by side with avian veterinarians to heal these birds for release back into the wild. Christine graduated from Mercy College in 2020 with a B.S in Veterinary Technology, and has a passion for improving wildlife medicine into the future.

This program is free of charge. No beach pass is required if you are attending the Fred Elser First Sunday Science. Please let them know at the gate you are attending the Bruce museum seaside center lecture. First Sunday Science programs take place at the Floren Family Environmental Center at Innis Arden Cottage, Greenwich Point Park, Old Greenwich, CT.
