Ages 11 – 13 Meets at Heckscher WILD! Porch This program provides an overview of basic animal care and experiential learning on Heckscher Farm. The program includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the farm and various hands-on experiences, such as cleaning and feeding of animals. Upon completion of the program, each participant will be eligible to become a farm volunteer. Space is limited to 5 participants per session. Held from 3:00 – 5:00 pm each session day. Film Screening: Carving the Divine – Buddhist Sculptors of Japan

Carving the Divine: Buddhist Sculptors of Japan is a documentary film that offers a rare look into a 1400-year-old Buddhist woodcarving tradition and the practitioners struggling to preserve its legacy in a rapidly changing Japan. After the screening, director Yujiro Seki will join by Zoom to discuss the project. This screening is co-presented with the departments of Visual & Performing Arts and Religious Studies, the Asian Studies program, and the Arts Institute.
