DESCRIPTION:Impressionism at Hill-Stead\nSponsored by Northwest Community Bank Foundation\nREGISTER HERE\nPlease join us on Saturday\, July 19 at 4:30PM for a lecture followed by rides in a tethered hot air balloon\, framed through the eyes of Monet!  Rides will be contextualized in relation to the museum’s distinguished collection of Impressionist paintings and by way of a public conversation with Professor Carol Armstrong about how ballooning impacted Monet’s art. Armstrong is Professor of History of Art at Yale University and the author of multiple\, award-winning books about French Impressionism. The event will begin with a short presentation by the author followed by a public conversation between her and Oliver O’Donnell\, Hill-Stead’s Resident Art Historian. Questions from the audience will be welcomed at the end and the evening will conclude with tethered hot air balloon rides on Hill-Stead’s West Lawn.\nTickets and Timing\nLecture at 4:30pm followed by Tethered Balloon Rides from 6-8pm\nLecture only: $20 members; $25 non-members\nLecture and Balloon Ride: $55 members; $60 non-members\nBalloon Ride only: $35 adults; $25 under 18\nLecture Series Description:\nAs part of an ongoing series sponsored by Northwest Community Bank Foundation\, Hill-Stead brings distinguished speakers to the museum to give public-facing lectures that relate to the rotating exhibitions\, permanent collection\, architecture and grounds.\nBalloon Sponsor
