About Ben Lougheed
Dr. Ben Lougheed is a classical guitarist praised for his “dramatic power,” “lyric beauty,” and “beautifully polished, passionate, and engaging performances.” An emerging force in the field, he has performed across the U.S. for organizations such as Interlochen Arts Academy, Guitar Sarasota, Utah Classical Guitar, and the Treasure Coast Guitar Society, with upcoming concerts in Wilmington, Hartford, and Baltimore.
A dedicated educator, Ben teaches at Temple Music Preparatory and has previously taught at Florida State University and Pensacola State College. His students have earned top honors in All-State and All-National ensembles and at major national competitions. He is also frequently invited to teach and present around the country.
Ben is the founder of the Florida Guitar Festival, where he served as Executive Director for nearly a decade, raising over $100,000 to support concerts, competitions, and educational programs. He also founded Classical Revolution Tallahassee and regularly lectures on entrepreneurship and marketing for universities and the Guitar Foundation of America.
His debut album, Baroque Legacies, was hailed as “technically superb” and “emotionally delicious,” and his second album, Dancing on Six Strings, will be released in December 2025. Ben holds degrees from the Peabody Institute and Florida State University and performs on a double-top Antonius Muller guitar.
