Dr. Jennifer Thompson, the Gloria and Jack Drosdick Curator of European Painting & Sculpture and Curator of the John G. Johnson Collection, will present a lecture titled, Drama from Head to Toe: Rodin and the Making of the Burghers of Calais. The lecture will be on Thursday, September 12th at 5 p.m. in the Quick Center for the Arts in the Wien Experimental Theater. After the lecture there will be an Opening Reception at 6 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
This lecture is presented in conjunction with RODIN: TRUTH, FORM, LIFE: Selections from the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Collections located in the museum’s Walsh Gallery and is on view from September 13 – December 21, 2019. The lecture is part of the Edwin L. Weisl, Jr. Lectureships in Art History, funded by the Robert Lehman Foundation.
