Celebrate President’s Day in Waterbury @ The MATT  with guided and self-guided activities available throughout the day.

10:30-11:00 a.m.: Learn about the US presidency during a docent-guided tour of Men of Letters: Presidential Signatures. Men of Letters features the signatures of every president from George Washington to George W. Bush on official documents and personal communications. Docents will discuss highlights of the exhibition, including a ship’s passport signed by George Washington and then-Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson, and letter sent by Lyndon B. Johnson to a contact in Dallas before John F. Kennedy’s fateful trip there.

11:00 a.m.-Noon: Family art activity with teaching artist Steve DiRenzio.

Noon-1:00 p.m.: Join storyteller Lou Del Bianco for In The Shadow of the Mountain. Del Bianco will portray his grandfather, Luigi Del Bianco, and tell the story of his contribution to the carving of Mount Rushmore using photos, maps and timelines to bring Luigi’s story to life.

Presented in conjunction with Men of Letters: Presidential Signatures
