IMAGINATION!: Dive into the depths of your imagination as we create fantastical pieces of art based on Out of the Ordinary.
School might be out for the day, but the fun is still IN at The MATT! Drop off your child for this fun-filled day-long experience. Children will be immersed in the Museum’s galleries and special exhibitions while learning about history and developing their art skills with unique materials and techniques. Join us for this fun, safe, and educational childcare offering on days you might not get off! All supplies provided. Bring a bagged lunch. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. WPS Lottery Entry Information:
Due to the popularity of this program, Waterbury Public School Students looking to receive a slot at a reduced rate of $10 must enter the program lottery by selecting WPS School’s OUT! Lottery Entry. You must register for a lottery entry for each individual fall date that you are looking to participate in. Submissions will close at 12 PM on September 25th. Families will be notified whether they have been selected for the program and on which days, or have been waitlisted by 5 PM on September 25th. Participants selected via the lottery will need to register their child using a code and pay the $10 fee per day (if selected for multiple days) by 12 PM on Friday, September 29th or their spot(s) will be given to a participant on the waitlist. If you are registering more than one child in your household – please do so in the SAME ORDER, as if one child is selected via the lottery, the other children associated with your order will be automatically included.

Jeremy Frey: Woven

The first major retrospective of the artist’s work, Jeremy Frey: Woven presents a comprehensive survey of Frey’s prolific career spanning more than two decades. A seventh-generation Passamaquoddy basket maker and one of the most celebrated Indigenous weavers in the country, Frey learned traditional Wabanaki weaving techniques from his mother and through apprenticeships at the Maine Indian Basketmakers Alliance.
