DESCRIPTION:This experiential program for kids 7 to 11 sparks innate wonder .They’ll explore\, garden\, and make art in the natural world. Fun\, hands-on\, outdoor projects engage kids in gardening and landscaping\, environmental art-making\, citizen science\, inquiry\, and self-discovery. With the guidance of their master gardener/teaching artist\, kids will: \n\nExplore the natural world with all their senses.\nDeepen their connection to nature.\nParticipate in the Great Sunflower Project—and become citizen scientists.\nDesign and cultivate a native-plant garden.\nDiscover scientific principles: botany\, ecosystems\, lifecycles\, and more.\nCreate a pollinator pathway.\nRecognize native plants and herbs.\nPlay in AMP’s nature playground. \nBe inspired by environmental art.\nCreate their own nature-inspired masterpiece: printmaking\, textile art\, sculpture\, and more. \n\nKids leave with a strong sense of their own place in the natural world\, an appreciation of stewardship\, and a foundation for further scientific learning—all gained from real hands-on experiences. \nNo experience is necessary. This is a small group program led by teaching artist Meredith Arcari Luciano. Space is limited.
