In this relaxed, supportive, social setting, teens (12–17) can really step into their power as creators. In this relaxed, supportive, social setting, teens (12–17) can really step into their power as creators. They’ll choose their own art projects and mediums and—with their dedicated teaching artist’s guidance—create independently and collaboratively. 

Photographs, print, cloth, and a vast array of other mediums will be offered, and teens will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore sculpture, illustration, mixed media, painting, fashion illustration, design, and more.
  • Focus on special areas of interest.
  • Develop fine art & design skills.
  • Make new friends and collaborate with peers.
  • Take their creative ideas and inclinations to the next level.
  • Start—and enhance—their art portfolios.
  • Find their own authentic artistic voice.

No experience is necessary. This is a small group program led by teaching artist Shana Bazelmans. Space is limited.

American Mural Project Extends Its Family-Day Programming To Weekends throughout September

The American Mural Project (AMP) has extended its Family Day programming to weekends through September 29. Families can now participate in art activities any time during open hours. All art activities are included with admission. This month’s activities include Making Art with Fire: Fire Tiles and making Fire Prevention posters. Teen Art Studio is a welcoming art makerspace just for teens. Every Second Saturday of the month, from 10:30am to 1:30pm, teens transform the program room with their laughter, inquiring minds, and art.
