Wonder Art Winter II: Wed 10:30AM

Ages 18 month – 2+ (with caregiver) We’ll explore the season through live animal visits, natural artifacts, stories, songs, and of course, process-based art experiences designed specifically for our youngest learners. Meets at the Knobloch Farmhouse. If Stamford schools are delayed or closed due to weather, class will be cancelled. On Thin Ice: Alaska’s Warming Wilderness

On Thin Ice: Alaska’s Warming Wilderness transports visitors to the Arctic to confront the startling impacts of climate change. Remarkable animals from the Bruce’s natural history collections are paired with scale landscape models that showcase Alaska’s diverse ecosystem. The installation highlights both subtle and dramatic shifts occurring across the Alaskan landscape, bringing attention to the impact of rising temperatures.

Jeremy Frey: Woven

The first major retrospective of the artist’s work, Jeremy Frey: Woven presents a comprehensive survey of Frey’s prolific career spanning more than two decades. A seventh-generation Passamaquoddy basket maker and one of the most celebrated Indigenous weavers in the country, Frey learned traditional Wabanaki weaving techniques from his mother and through apprenticeships at the Maine Indian Basketmakers Alliance.
