Imagine the sensations one experiences while hiking through a forest—the sights, sounds, and smells. This gallery experience is designed to activate your senses in similar fashion, no hiking boots required! Join Aldrich Educator and art therapist Holly Lapine on a journey through one of our current exhibitions, Weather Report. Discover how looking at contemporary art can be enhanced by stimulating all of our senses, and leave feeling centered, refreshed, and inspired!
In The Studio: Painting Adventures
10 am to 12 noon; 1 to 3 pm
We invite you to join us for a day of fun, exploration, and adventure. Looking at masters of the past like J.M.W. Turner, Aldrich exhibiting artists like Ellen Harvey, and other contemporary artists like Lois Dodd, participants will experiment with the ways in which painting, like a good story, can transport us into another time, place, or dimension.
3 to 4 pm
Museum educators will lead an introductory tour of the exhibitions on view. Appropriate for all ages, this tour will travel throughout the galleries, investigate key works of art, and invite conversations and observations.
Join Aldrich Educators for a special gallery tour stopping at key works of art in each of the three exhibitions on view. Participate in discussions, discover new artists and ideas, and dive into contemporary art during this Sunday afternoon tour.
