About the Authors
PETER FRIEDMAN has spent his entire professional life as a television commercial and video producer. His five-decade career includes heading the Lucasfilms commercial production company, serving as the first Global Head of Television Production for Nike, running the worldwide broadcast production team for McCann Erickson, and acting as the production head for PGA TOUR Entertainment. From Michael Jordan to Justin Bieber, Bill Clinton to Bono, and Ted Kennedy to Tiger Woods, Peter has worked with an astounding list of celebrities. Having filmed around the world while largely based in New York and Los Angeles, Peter now lives more quietly in Newtown, Connecticut. But don’t call him retired; he’s still producing commercials and a variety of video content as a consultant for several top brands.

GRANT COPELAND is the President and Chief Creative Officer of WORX – a Connecticut-based marketing agency. A friend (and fan) of Peter’s, Grant casually remarked that he “might be able to help write something about your career” while the two drove to a New York Islanders game a few years ago. And now, here they are.

Isamu Noguchi: Metal the Mirror

“Here is where finally opposites come together, I see a surprising purity. Stone is the depth, metal the mirror. They do not conflict…” —Isamu Noguchi While the renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988) is best known for his work in stone, he consistently explored new materials and methods during his wide-ranging career. He first experimented with aluminum in the 1950s and later with galvanized steel, creating a series of twenty-six sculptures in collaboration with Gemini G.E.L. in Los Angeles in 1982–83.…
