Free for all ages. This event is offsite and will be held at Riverside Cemetery, 496 Riverside St, Waterbury, CT 06078. Join us at Riverside Cemetery to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Fortune’s burial. An enslaved man whose remains were displayed in the Mattatuck Museum for years, in 2013 Fortune was given a proper burial. Opening remarks, recounting Fortune’s life and legacy, blessings, and a wreath laying will mark the occasion. Light refreshments to follow. Although the event is free,…
