This experiential program for kids 7 to 11 sparks innate wonder .They’ll explore, garden, and make art in the natural world. Fun, hands-on, outdoor projects engage kids in gardening and landscaping, environmental art-making, citizen science, inquiry, and self-discovery. With the guidance of their master gardener/teaching artist, kids will:

  • Explore the natural world with all their senses.
  • Deepen their connection to nature.
  • Participate in the Great Sunflower Project—and become citizen scientists.
  • Design and cultivate a native-plant garden.
  • Discover scientific principles: botany, ecosystems, lifecycles, and more.
  • Create a pollinator pathway.
  • Recognize native plants and herbs.
  • Play in AMP’s nature playground. 
  • Be inspired by environmental art.
  • Create their own nature-inspired masterpiece: printmaking, textile art, sculpture, and more. 

Kids leave with a strong sense of their own place in the natural world, an appreciation of stewardship, and a foundation for further scientific learning—all gained from real hands-on experiences.

No experience is necessary. This is a small group program led by teaching artist Meredith Arcari Luciano. Space is limited.

Home Away From Homeschool: Adventures in Art History

Each week, homeschoolers will focus on a different art movement and practice art fundamental skills such as color theory and perspective.
